Why DO flies grow wings? Find out why some of our PCRC scientists decided to devote their careers to prostate cancer research

Advanced prostate cancer research has been neglected, and it has been over 70 years since we last had a major breakthrough.

We believe in a better future for men with prostate cancer. PCRC is the only UK charity solely dedicated to developing treatments for men with life-threatening prostate cancer, using advances in medical science to turn yesterday’s hopes into today’s realities.

We fund pioneering investigations into immunotherapy, prostate cancer stem cells, how to stop prostate cancer spreading and the creation of new models of advanced prostate cancer.

We need to invest in the research now to ensure we can save lives in the future.

Professor Prokar Dasgupta

Our supporters allow us to continue to fund our research and find new treatments for advanced prostate cancer.

Which team will you back?

Matt's models, Magali’s stopping the spread of prostate cancer, Aamir’s attack on stem cells or Christine’s immunotherapy? Every contribution made increases the chances of curing this painful and prevalent disease in our fathers, brothers, sons and friends.

Why is research important?

In the UK, prostate cancer is the 2nd most common cause of cancer death in males, and 1 in 6 males will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Hence, prostate cancer research is pivotal for the development of novel treatments that will help us fight this life threatening illness and improve the quality of life of patients suffering from prostate cancer.
