Earth Day 2021

As the climate crisis becomes more serious each year, 2021’s Earth Day is more important than ever.

Today is Earth Day!

We all know the importance of saving our planet.

Today is Earth Day, a day when people from around the world come together to raise awareness of the problems facing our Earth.

Founded in the US in 1970, Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

It includes a wide range of events coordinated globally, and this year many of the events are virtual so you can still join in! This includes Earth Day Live, a livestream event running today (April 22, 2021) featuring global activists, international leaders, and influencers. To see a catalogue of events, visit EARTHDAY.ORG. Earth Day - Healthy planet is a necessity

Over 1 billion people in more than 193 countries take part in Earth Day

Earth Day - Restore Our Earth

It is the world’s largest environmental movement.

This year’s theme is Restore our Earth which focuses not only on the need to reduce our impact on the planet as we recover from the effects of Covid-19, but also how we can play a role in repairing the damage we’ve done. There are five main programmes:

  • The Canopy Project,
  • Food and Environment,
  • Climate Literacy,
  • the Global Earth Challenge,
  • and The Great Global CleanUp

What are PCR doing?

We are a charity dedicated to creating a better future for every individual and family affected by prostate cancer.

While our focus remains on finding and funding innovative research to improve both survival and quality of life for cancer patients, we also recognise that quality of life in the long term depends on the health and quality of the local and global environment. In line with this, we recognise our responsibility to operate in an environmentally responsible way.

We formally commit ourselves to being an environmentally responsible charity, including recognising our responsibility to reduce our carbon and environmental footprints as we carry out our activities.
