Absolutely! Treadmill miles count towards your 100-mile target just the same as outdoor miles. Whether you’re walking at the gym, at home, or outdoors, every mile makes a difference.

You can keep track of your progress by using the Walk 100 Miles in September miles paper tracker included in your welcome pack, or by using fitness apps such as Strava, MapMyWalk, Fitbit, or your phone’s built-in Health app.

We trust you! You don’t need to submit proof that you’ve completed the challenge to us.

That said, your friends and family will love following your journey, so make sure you keep them updated throughout September. Share photos, videos and progress updates on your fundraising page and social media to let them know how you’re getting on.

Fundraisers who regularly post updates raise around 40% more on average. The more updates you share, the more likely your supporters are to stay engaged and help you reach, or even exceed, your fundraising target!

To complete your page set up, you’ll first need to claim your JustGiving page

Please email the [email protected] inbox and we will send you a unique link to claim your page.

Once you’ve got it, follow the link and log in to your existing JustGiving account or create a new one if you don’t already have one. If you already have a JustGiving account, scroll down and select “Log in” at the bottom of the page. If you’re new to JustGiving, simply complete the form to create an account.

Once logged in, follow the steps to personalise your page by adding your name, profile picture and a few words about why you’re taking on the challenge.

Set a fundraising target and make your page your own.

You’re ready to go! Share your page with friends, family and colleagues to start raising funds for life-changing prostate cancer research.

Making your fundraising page your own can help you connect with supporters and raise more money.

Log in to your JustGiving account and open your fundraising page.

Click “Edit your page”.

Update your page title, fundraising target, and My Story section to explain why you’re taking on the challenge.

Add a profile or cover photo to make your page more personal.

Click Save to update your page.

Top tip: Fundraising pages with a photo often raise 23% more than pages without one, so don’t forget to add a photo of yourself or something that inspires you to take part.

Don’t worry, this is an easy fix! If you’ve accidentally created two pages, please delete the page you’re not using to avoid any confusion. Need a hand? Email us at [email protected] – we’re always happy to help!

Don’t worry, many fundraisers find it takes a little time to get their first donations. Here are our top tips:

Make a self-donation. If you’re able to, get the ball rolling by making the first donation yourself. Seeing a donation on your page can inspire others to get donate too.

Personalise your fundraising page. Add a photo and update the My Story section to explain why you’re taking on the challenge and why supporting prostate cancer research matters to you.

Share your page widely. Post about your challenge on social media, send your page to friends, family and colleagues, and don’t be afraid to remind people throughout the month. People are often happy to support – they just need a gentle nudge!

Share your progress. Post photos, videos and updates from your walks. Supporters who regularly share updates often raise more because people enjoy following their journey.

Don’t worry, donations don’t always appear immediately. If you’ve received a donation confirmation email, your donation has been successfully processed and should appear on the page shortly.

If the donation hasn’t appeared after some time, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to investigate.

Of course! You can collect offline or cash donations using our sponsorship form.

Once you’ve collected the donations, you can pay the money into your bank account and then make a donation to your fundraising page on behalf of your supporters.

Using the sponsorship form will help you keep a record of any offline donations and ensure every contribution is included in your fundraising total.

If you’ve collected cash donations, please record them on our sponsorship form.

The easiest way to pay in cash donations is to deposit the cash into your bank account, and transfer total amount to:

Please make sure you reference “YOURNAME100SEPT” so we can identify your donations and include them in the challenge total.  

Keeping your supporters updated throughout the challenge is a great way to stay motivated, celebrate milestones and thank everyone who has donated to your fundraiser.

To add an update to your JustGiving page:

Log in to your JustGiving account.

On your profile page, click Fundraising.

Find the fundraising page you’d like to update and click Edit.

In the menu on the left-hand side, click Updates.

Add your update, photo or milestone and publish it to your page.

You can use updates to share your progress, post photos from your walks, celebrate fundraising milestones, and thank your supporters for their generosity.

Only people with a Facebook account can donate to a Facebook fundraiser. If any of your friends, family or colleagues don’t use Facebook, they won’t be able to donate through your fundraiser.

If you’d like to make donating as easy as possible for everyone, we recommend setting up a JustGiving page, which can be accessed by anyone with the link. Create a JustGiving page by clicking on the orange button that says ‘Start Fundraising’

If you or anyone else with a Facebook account is having trouble donating to your fundraiser, please get in touch with the Facebook help centre, as they will be best placed to assist with any technical issues.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to combine your fundraising totals across Facebook and JustGiving, as they are two separate fundraising platforms. However, there’s no need to worry as all donations raised on both platforms will still automatically come to us.

If you have both a Facebook fundraiser and a JustGiving page, you may want to add an update on each fundraiser explaining that you have two separate pages running. At the end of the challenge, you can then add the totals together and share your combined total in a final thank‑you post!

Many employers offer matched giving schemes, which can double the impact of your fundraising.

If your company requires proof of your fundraising or details about Prostate Cancer Research before making a matched donation, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to provide any information they need.

If your employer would like to make a donation directly to Prostate Cancer Research, please get in touch and we can advise on the best way to do this.

You don’t need to close your JustGiving page for Prostate Cancer Research to receive the money you’ve raised. Donations made through your fundraising page are automatically sent to us by JustGiving.

Your fundraising page will automatically close itself around three weeks after the challenge ends. If you’d prefer to close it sooner, you can do so by logging in to your JustGiving account and updating your page settings.
