Prostate Cancer Research receives continuation funding from The National Lottery Community Fund

Prostate Cancer Research is delighted to have received three-year continuation funding of £496,344 from The National Lottery Community Fund. This vital support will enable us to take our patient information resource, the infopool, to the next phase.

Thanks to the Fund’s previous support, we successfully launched the infopool in 2023, and it has since become a trusted and valued source of health information on prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment and care with a focus on accessibility and representation.

Since it’s launch, the infopool has reached 200,000+ users, with 1,000+ patient stories have been published to the site. Our Infopool Impact Report, conducted with social impact data firm Sowen, found that 93% of users would recommend 98% of healthcare professionals would recommend the infopool.

With this new funding, we’ll ensure the infopool remains the go-to place for reliable, accessible, and up-to-date information on everything from testing and diagnosis to treatment options, managing side effects, and finding clinical trials. We’re also looking ahead to new developments, to ensure the infopool continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the communities we work with.

“I don’t think there is anything else quite like infopool out there, it’s somewhere to be honest and to help and ease people’s minds, however daunting things many seem”
