About the campaign
Every year over 12,000 men die of prostate cancer – that’s one every 40 minutes. This is a national tragedy. However, it doesn’t need to be this way, and if caught early prostate cancer is almost always curable. The Proactive For Your Prostate campaign recognises that the current framework of ‘informed choice’ is ineffective. It is inefficient at detecting clinically significant prostate cancer as well as being widely inequitable. Prostate Cancer Research is therefore campaigning to change this framework by calling for a change in the national screening policy currently undergoing a review by the UK National Screening Committee (UKNSC).
We need your support to amplify this campaign publicly to raise awareness and get this on the agenda of the UKNSC.
