Meet the Scientists 2026: Research starts with people

We welcomed supporters, patients and researchers to our annual Meet the Scientists event, an inspiring day dedicated to bringing research closer to the people it aims to help.
Supporters heard directly from researchers working across a wide range of projects, from understanding how prostate cancer develops to improving diagnosis, treatment and quality of life. Through discussions and informal conversations, guests gained a behind-the-scenes insight into the research their support makes possible.
“Truly fascinating and enjoyable to hear directly from scientists about their daily work projects. It has given me a lot of hope for the future.

For researchers, the event offered a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand from people affected by prostate cancer and gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, challenges and priorities that matter most to patients. These conversations ensure research remains grounded in real-world needs and can inform future studies, helping to make it more relevant and impactful.
“We are inspired by our discussions about real world experiences and what to think about when planning our future work.

The day also highlighted the power of collaboration. We can only drive change by bringing together researchers, patients, clinicians, supporters and partners to share their expertise and tackle problems together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success. Together, we are advancing research that has the potential to deliver earlier diagnosis, better treatments and improved outcomes for men affected by prostate cancer.
More news and updates from the event will be shared in the coming weeks so keep an eye on our website and social media channels to learn more.
