PCRC Launch the "My Man" campaign
This campaign launched on 19th June 2009 on a host of local radio stations and a live web chat with Dr Heather Payne and Mrs Mary Low whos late husband had prostate cancer.
Why a new campaign?
Despite prostate cancer being the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men, very few men over 50 have ever had a PSA blood test – a test that monitors the level of Prostate Specific Antigens. Most men that we spoke to said they would visit their GP if the woman in their lives booked the appointment for them. With this in mind we have launched the campaign with the aim of gettting women to encourage men to embrace intimate health issues to encourage early diagnosis.
