Thanks to Richard and Margaret Bush who raised more than £2,500 by walking 125-miles along the Thames and Kennet and Avon Canal towpath from London to Devizes. It was an eventful trip that almost didn’t happen when Margaret fell and broke her arm. After treatment the couple returned to where they had left off and finished the walk, arm in plaster and all! Margaret said: “It has been tremendous fun and we have enjoyed every minute of it”. Richard said: “all the way along the route people have been so marvellous and generous. Raising this money has also been my way, now I’m fit again, of repaying the PCRC for all the help the charity gave me after my diagnosis”. The Bush’s followed the route of the Devizes to Westminster canoe race which Richard went to see as a boy scout aged 10.
PLEASE NOT THAT THE AMMOUNT RAISED WAS INCORRECTLY LISTED IN HORIZON SPRING 2008 AS £1,500 - WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY EMBARRASSMENT CAUSED.
