Research Outline

We aim to identify the changes that cause prostate cancer to develop and the further changes that are associated with the progression of the disease. We believe that by understanding the changes that make prostate cancer cells grow and spread to other parts of the body, we can exploit this understanding to improve management and develop new treatment. There are 3 areas of research:

• Prostate cancer stem cells (led by Dr Aamir Ahmed PhD)
• Prostate cancer invasion and spread (led by Dr Magali Williamson PhD)
• Predicting prostate cancer outcome (led by Mr Mark Feneley FRCS and Dr Alex Freeman MRCPath)
